Through regular self care, gum/[periodontal] disease and tooth decay can be prevented. This reduces the likelihood of more extensive dental treatments in future years.


Common Procedures Performed by Our Dental Hygienist Include;

  • Teeth/gum/oral hygiene advice and training
  • Dietary and home care advice
  • Risk assessment for decay, erosion and wear
  • Treatment of gum inflammation and gum/periodontal disease
  • Teeth scaling and polishing [preventative]
  • Removal of surface staining
  • Tooth whitening

Symptoms of Gum Disease

If you have very unhealthy gums you may notice and realize that you have one or more of the following:
Bleeding or seepage coming from your gums, which may look red and puffy, a slightly loose tooth or teeth, Bad breath, Receding gums, unsightly stains or calculus.
Very mild disease is quite common and it may be almost un-noticeable; It should be diagnosed by your dentist or hygienist before it progresses, and appropriate treatment should be provided.
